MILLVILLE -- Goodman Properties, developer of Union Lake Crossing Shopping Center on North 2nd Street, has pledged $5,000 to the American Red Cross 4th Annual People Helping People Walk-a-thon scheduled for April 14.
1-millionth passenger expected to cross James River Friday
Some time Friday morning, the one-millionth vehicle of 2006 will board the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry to cross the James River. The ferry service was established in 1925 and shuttles tourists and commuters between Surry County and Jamestown, near the site of the 1607 Jamestown Settlement.
