Hmong flower farmers in the Snoqualmie Valley saw their livelihood literally washing away in this week's floods. Some tried Thursday to salvage dahlia tubers, but thousands of tulip bulbs were swept away.

The stamping-class students in the Arts Club are rummaging through plastic tubs to find just the right design a bear here, a flower there. Some enthusiastically whack the stamps onto the notecards they are creating. Others apply the designs daintily.
